SOMETHING: Tāmaki Makaurau indie dream-pop quartet Echomatica made serious waves with their debut single Love Isn't Always', charting across Aotearoa alternative and rock radio, and picking up considerable international attention. This Friday 12th September sees the release of Echomatica's second single 'Something', ahead of the debut self-titled album which is out on October 10th. At its core, 'Something' recalls the familiar search for personal connection – that elusive spark we chase in relationships, memory, and art. With a shimmering atmosphere and a pulse that’s both dreamy and urgent, the song reflects a brighter side of Echomatica’s signature fusion of ethereal beauty with emotional depth. “'Something' was one of those tunes that started simply, as fragments toyed with on an acoustic guitar. The song flowed easily from there, and came to reflect ideas of reaching for meaning when everything feels uncertain, and how even in silence and hesitation there’s often the joy and wonder of discovery and an electric potential in what’s left unspoken.” – Charlie Maclean, Vocalist (she/her). The track follows the success of their debut single ‘Love Isn’t Always’, which was released in August, and reached No. 1 on the 95bfm Top 10, Number 2 on the NZ Student Radio Network (SRN) Top 10, and No. 9 on the Radioscope Alt Airplay chart. 'Love Isn't Always' also received international radio play across the US, UK, Australia and Europe. "Our first single was more of a meditative, introspective mood, but for this track, there's definitely a more optimistic, nostalgic kind of feel. Hopefully, it sounds fresh and vibrant, but I still think there's a touch of retro nostalgia to it. We admire simple, classic songwriting, but we add our own twist with the ethereal ambience that colours most of what we do. It has a positive feel, but still hints of uncertainty." The band's debut self-titled album Echomatica is due for release on Friday October 10, on vinyl and digitally. Echomatica was recorded live to analogue tape at Earwig Studios, Auckland and will be released on Dead Signal Records. "I'm a hopeless romantic at heart. 'Something' evokes the dizzying, intoxicating feelings of new love. It's hopeful, and all-consuming."

LOVE ISN'T ALWAYS: Auckland, New Zealand, Aug 1, 2025 -- Emerging indie dream pop band Echomatica release their debut single, 'Love Isn't Always' on Dead Signal Records. The hypnotic, slow-burn tune oozes with heartfelt lyrics, bathed in melancholic, reverb-soaked guitars and laid-back indietronica vibes. "Love Isn't Always" effortlessly draws the listener into Echomatica's world of poetic heartbreak, washed with layers of atmospheric instrumentation. Echomatica's debut drop introduces their signature cinematic, immersive sound, exploring notions of human connection in an increasingly inauthentic digital world. Self-produced and recorded direct to tape by Darren McShane of Earwig Studios, in Auckland, NZ, the memorable track evokes lazy, introspective afternoons and rain-soaked neon streets with gritty emotional realism and old-school analogue vibes. The build-up to Echomatica's first single has already brought positive reactions and anticipation on social channels ahead of the August 1st release on all streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and more. The debut album "Echomatica" is slated for release October 10 on streaming and vinyl. *For further information, please email: reneeclairejones@hotmail.com
